Tama pranced through the forest at a brisk trot, eager to get at least one mare as quickly as possible and return to her unguarded territory. It had taken Tama the entire night and half the day to reach the Wandering Brook, and she was exhausted. Tama erected her ears at the sound of running water and used what little energy she had left to reach it. She immediately went of the stream and began to gulp down gallons of the cool water. Tama raised her water soaked muzzle from the brook and scanned the meadow for signs of another equine with her amber orbs then gave a loud, high pitched whinny. The mare waited for a few seconds then lowered her skull to graze on the grass near the river bank when no one answered her call.
